ToupTek HOPE D60

This is 1st test by D60.

Hope D60 full-frame PIPO professional astronomical telescope with a sleek design
A stunning image of a starry sky featuring bright stars and colorful nebulae, with prominent celestial objects including the Orion nebula. Captured with a Canon Ra camera.

D60 + Canon Ra, 98 x 2′

A collage of nine star field images showcasing various celestial bodies and star clusters against a dark sky backdrop.

Looks very nice! The scope seems to perform as their publishing. It should be the premium wide-field telescope. The illumination power is more than 90% at 22mm radius. So I’m sure it is quite comfortable to the full frame camera owners even under the light polluted sky too.

Sightron DBP-EX UHS

UHS version is available now.

Pre-shifted off-center design is ideal for RASA,HyperStar and regular camera lenses.

Also Hutech carries several filter drawers like

All filter drawers are fully designed for Sightron’s glass thickness. So no compromise due to the improper light path length.

I will keep updated on the test.

1st Light thru SJ DBP EX

This is 1st shot through SJ dual narrowband filter EX. Unfortunately the sky was a bit hazy and the optics used was a slightly improper. So it might be a little lose the Ha signal due to the blue shift. Originally I planed to use F3.6 scope. But I forgot an adapter for that. So this is a backup system.

SJ DBP-EX + Sigma 105mm Art @F2.2 + Player One Poseidon-C, 30×3′ (gain 0/-15°C)

And my setup.

The new filter is expected to come in stock next week.

SJ Dual Narrowband Filter

I got 1st sample of SJ DBP EX.

Red line is a new EX version

Features are;

  • Higher transmission
  • Flat top
  • Steep cutoff lines
  • Clean bottom cuts
  • Fused Quartz – excellent purity and transmission
  • SJ-proprietary premium coating – virtually halo-free

I had the chance for the halo test just before the marine layer came in last night. Sigma 105mm is like 3.5″ scope at F2.2 speed.

Unfortunately California’s June gloom season came in again. This will be commercially available middle of this month.
