- Product Features
- A large carbon-fiber tripod specifically designed for astronomical telescopes, combining high load capacity with lightweight construction.
- Two-stage screw-lock leg design. Both upper and lower sections provide a maximum leg diameter of 50 mm, ensuring outstanding rigidity and strength.
- Equipped with an 85 mm mount platform compatible with Gitzo Series 5. Also supports the standard 3/8″ screw system used for photography tripods, as well as MORE BLUE’s standardized equatorial mount adapter.
The main unit features M6 threaded holes for expanded equipment mounting, offering an open design that is friendly to astronomical gear. - Comes standard with ground spike adapters. By transmitting the load vertically to the ground, overall stability is further enhanced.
Lateral stress on the legs is also reduced. - Features the world’s first MORE BLUE lock system. By eliminating the center column traditionally used to connect braces and opening up the lower section of the mount, installation of equatorial mounts and other equipment is greatly simplified.
- Compatible with MORE BLUE’s equatorial mount adapter for Gitzo Series 5 tripods.
- The adjustable ground spike adapter has been updated to a new specification.
Interference between the tripod legs and adjustment knobs has been eliminated, allowing full use of the threaded section.

I dont write many reviews but this tripod deserves a description. I love carbon fiber tripods for their lightweight sturdiness but as the engineers know (I am not one) that the construct is only as strong as its weakest link. The photo tripods are great for static loading but when it comes to swinging around a long telescope on a powerful compact mount rotation and twisting forces show up on precision tracking. This tripod has a broad head, great joints at the leg attachments, a solid and unique locking spreader and great feet. All the right stuff. In addition the tripod head has a stable 85 mm compression attached interface compatible with the Gitzo 5 series but so much more. The tripod head on its perimeter has multiple (9) , 3 per leg attachment, M6 Threaded holes for adding a flat plate adapter of choice for other mounts. I have not explored all of the Gitzo 5 compatible adapters. The large center receiver has three large stainless steel 3/8 knurled knobs for male mount base. The Delrin (or some solid polypropylene) split ring grabs onto the male mount insert much like an eyepiece holder with a brass compression split ring on a diagonal.
Solid threaded leg extensions below the spreader and spreader is locked into the junction. Great knobs or spikes on the interchangeable 3/8-16 threaded leg ends. It comes with levelers that you can install as the solid leg design has no telescoping parts or adjustable screws in the columns. The case is great. Mine came with a camo case and leg tubular pads that match the camo, I guess I am going to have to put some fluorescent tape on it as they are hard to see at night. the leg extensions have their own padded tubular sleeves. Well designed with the astronomy consumer in mind. Light, stable, adaptable, cant ask for anything more in a medium weight tripod, case and fasteners
